Empowering Musicians Through Education

Unleash Your Musical Talent with Us

Hi, my name is Kevin Wallace, I am a guitar teacher based in Lancashire, England.

I have been playing guitar for about 30 years now.

Surprisingly I didn't start on guitar, my first instrument was saxaphone! I started learning classical guitar at Opus Music School in Manchester at the age of 13. There I trained in classical techniques and worked up through the ABRSM grades. My teacher helped me to develop a good solid foundation in techniques, playing posture and theory.

I also learned to play electric guitar and formed a band at school, I particularly enjoyed playing music by Pink Floyd & Queen. At the same time as picking up the guitar, I stepped on the mat and begun learning the martial art Aikido which I studied and practiced with equal passion. On the mat is where I began my training as a coach/instructor. As an Aikido instructor, one of the challenges is to ensure that everyone in the class receives a valuable and engaging experience no matter what their age or ability. I like to think that over the years I have transferred these skills over to my music tuition, which makes the group classes that I offer so different.
After school and college I trained as a sound engineer at SSR Manchester then moved to Oxford to work in a recording studio. Since moving back to the northwest I worked in music shops where I in 2005 I set up my private teaching studio “Rossendale Guitar” and began working as a guitar teacher for Bury Music Service. In 2022 I became head of guitar studies at Bury, launching the exciting “Bury Rocks” project.

Over the years I have played guitar both in the studio and with live bands.
